The maintenance department has been working diligently on the course in the last several weeks. The greens have been plugged, sanded, thatched, and seeded along with new tee mats and general clean up. Yet, the greens have been slow to respond.
Staff reached out to local golf course maintenance professionals for advice on best practices. It was confirmed we are on the right track and need to be patient as we watch the grass grow.
We are in the process of purchasing a new mower for the greens, as our old one has been in and out of service so frequently it impacted our ability to maintain the greens properly.
There have also been concerns about the grass browning in late summer due to dry weather. The course has no sprinklers in the rough, only on the greens and fairways. This helps us monitor our water conservation.
To maintain these improvements, please remember to avoid the greens unless you are golfing (putting) or playing Disc Golf, and abide by the Community Rules which do not allow pets to run off leash on the course.
