When is a Construction Permit required and when is a Certificate of Compliance required?
When planning improvements or repairs to your property, you may need both permits from the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community (SITC) Planning and Community Development Department, and certificates of compliance from the Shelter Bay committee responsible.
No matter whether your project is big or small, you should become more familiar with the requirements of the Swinomish Codes and the Shelter Bay governing documents.
Board Member and Acting Chair of Architectural Compliance Committee Mike Shannon shared more information on permits and certificates of Compliance in his December Newsletter article found on page two.
In Shelter Bay, our covenants help protect the community’s natural beauty, support quality improvements, and keep property values strong.
You can find the covenants on our website. Just go to the Governance tab and select Governing Documents. There, you’ll find important information like our Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, Covenants, Rules & Regulations, Master Lease details, and Fines & Fees.
It’s a helpful resource to have anytime you need accurate information.
