Participants and topics include:
● Sinclair Refinery: the refinery, the benefits of their emergency preparedness programs to the public, and how their Community Investment Programs, including STEM and skilled trades, benefit our communities.
● Washington Department of Natural Resources: forestlands, geological hazards, recreational areas, and day-use sites for public enjoyment. Learn the difference between the WA State Parks system and the Department of Natural Resources in funding and use.
● Skagit Conservation District: fire-resistant landscaping.
● The Medical Reserve Corp. of Skagit County: a national network of more than 200,000 volunteers organized locally to improve the health and safety of their communities.
● Fire District 13: services provided beyond fire protection.
● Skagit Bay Search and Rescue: one of seven search and rescue organizations available to respond to emergencies in Skagit County.
● Skagit County Department of Emergency Management: how to receive alerts about local emergencies and other important information.
● Island Health: Learn about the hospital’s response in the event of a mass casualty event and how to prepare your family and home for emergencies.
● SARECC, Skagit Amateur Radio Emergency Communications: Learn how to improve your HAM radio skills for your own preparedness or use your license to serve our community.
