On March 7, the clubhouse featured forty-two Shelter Bay artists with a diversity of talents including: painting, glasswork, fiber arts, wood carving, jewelry, and so much more.

Although the doors were scheduled to open at 2 p.m., six people were admitted at 1:45 p.m. From then on, it was a constant full house until the exhibit closed at 7 p.m.

To describe this event in just a couple of words? Joyous and magical!

Estimated attendance numbers ranged between 200 and 400 people throughout the day. The room was abuzz with excited voices exclaiming over both the caliber of art and artists. Disbelief over how many artists we have in Shelter Bay was a common theme. We heard artists truly honoring each other’s work and sharing of skills and expertise. Heads came together as contact information was exchanged among some of the artists.

The organizers had talked of the probability of a “lull” sometime midafternoon. This did not happen. People just kept coming and coming and coming. The happy hour, from 5 – 7 p.m., featured an exquisitely artistic arrangement of food for all.

This was a truly magical event—with multiple requests for this to be held again next year.
