Shelter Bay Clubs

Book Club

The Shelter Bay Book Club meets from September through June onthe first Monday of each month. (For September only, it meets on the second Monday.) Meetings are held in individual homes of club members at 1:30 p.m. and usually start with a general introduction of ourselves to and welcoming of new people.

We choose a schedule of books for recommended reading at the beginning of each year, and book discussions are facilitated by a leader at each meeting. Following the meeting, the group adjourns for tea, coffee, cookies and more conversation. We have salad luncheons in December and June.

Watch the Shelter Bay Newsletter for information on each month's book. If you are interested in joining the book club, please contact Lynne Rheinhardt at 466-1783.

Tennis Club

The Shelter Bay Tennis Club reserves the two tennis courts near the Shelter Bay Clubhouse for adult play from 10-noon every day. Doubles play takes priority over singles play.

All adults (17 and over) who come with proper tennis shoes and a current recreation tag will be included. Standard sets will be played with 4 players. For 5, 6 or 7 players, 4-game sets will be played, and the sit-out players will be determined by cards and rotation. Partners may be determined by cards or by agreement.

For those wishing to use the courts at times other than those listed above, please obtain a key from the Shelter Bay Office. Remember to plan ahead, since the office is closed on weekends and holidays.
